Conifer Communications is pleased to announce the launch of internet service off the Jackson Butte tower in Jackson, California. With cutting-edge Fixed Wireless technology, Conifer is one step ahead of other ISPs providing service across rural areas underserved by DSL or cable modems at slower speeds. With a massive tower that can be seen from five counties, Conifer knows that this is a big step in achieving greater coverage throughout the central Sierras.
The equipment on the tower on Jackson Butte is aimed toward those living outside of the Jackson city limits where there isn’t always Internet coverage, allowing more rural folks to stay connected!
This is Conifer’s first tower in Amador County and we are happy to service the Argonauts! Our closest customer service office is just over the Calaveras county line in San Andreas, open 8 am-4 pm every weekday.
Dubbed “Jackson” in 1849 from the Californios and Yankee Argonauts who flooded the native Miwok area after gold was found in Coloma, this area grew as gold was found in the rich diggings along the Mokelumne River.
Today, with a thriving historic downtown, Jackson has many wonderful things to do. Activities abound, from antiquing to bookshops to rafting, hiking, microbreweries, and local wineries.
The history, rural beauty and California country way of life make this a great place to live. And now folks have internet speeds that rival those in the city without suffering all that traffic.
The Jackson Butte tower is right on Hwy 49, just North of the Mokelumne River and south of the town of Jackon and Hwy 88. Conifer’s already present tower on Sierra Vista in Mountain Ranch allows for greater coverage of the back-country.
“I have dreamed of going up on this tower ever since we started the company back in 2008!” says owner Jason Niedens. “It just pops out of the landscape and can see things for miles and miles.”
Conifer Communications uses fixed wireless technology to broadcast high-speed Internet signals from these towers to equipment mounted on homes and businesses to provide faster download speeds. Conifer began in Groveland, California, in 2008 and has been serving the foothill communities with increasingly fast Internet service ever since.
