The little things that make us the happiest

Often it is the little things that make us the happiest in life and being part of a small rural community, we are so grateful for all of them.

Favorite things 1
  • We are thankful for the opportunity to work where we live and be with our families for dinner at night.
  • We are grateful for fresh-cut flowers from the farmer’s market to adorn our desks.
  • We are glad to contribute to local art and make our community more beautiful.
  • We appreciate the breathtaking beauty of nature we cruise through: from the Valley Springs’ golden hills to Yosemite’s granite peaks, we get to enjoy the lovely Motherlode. Some of our towers offer views that are simply unrivaled!
  • We are grateful for monster drinks and chicken sandwiches as we rush to customer repairs.
  • We are thankful for our favorite mug filled with fresh coffee as we order steel for a new tower, work on the technical settings of the network, and answer calls from customers.
  • We’re pleased to contribute to the Mother’s Day Roundup parade and serve hot dogs to the band kids afterward.
  • We are happy to be able to host the cameras from AlertWildfire and contribute to our community’s safety.
  • We are thankful for the opportunity to work where we live and be with our families for dinner at night.

It is easy to get caught up in life and take things for granted, but we would like to pause and remember just how blessed we truly are!

We are grateful to be one of the local family companies in this community. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve you and grateful that you have trusted us with your internet connection. And we are so very happy that, even in these tough times, our family continues to grow. From new hires who join our team each year to babies born here at Conifer Communications, we are growing as a company and looking forward to many more years of success.

Our family is deeply rooted in the Motherlode; it’s where we live and work, and it’s why this business has endured for over 13 years now. We get to see our families every day, which is such a gift after all this time. Our company is one of family; with two families who started it and many pairs of siblings who work there. We have teams made up of childhood friends and military pals. And we love our community here.

Conifer Team

We are grateful for our crew working hard to keep the network live and serving high-speed internet. This year we were voted the best Internet service provider in the Motherlode.  To be known as the best internet provider in the Motherlode is something we’ve been striving for since we founded the company in 2008.

Award

The old adage is that you make your own family by choosing your friends, and we've been blessed to form a family within our company.

Crew

As a small family company, every member of Conifer has a voice in best serving our customers. Daily, we each see the positive impact we have on serving those customers and improving the company. Our crew is the best thing about our company, and we are thankful for every one of them each day.

We are thankful for the community’s support and our deep connection with it. Each new member adds to our community’s closeness. This is true for each new hire and each new internet connection. We appreciate every one of them, as well as the wonderful people with whom we are privileged to serve. These are the major things we can be thankful for on a daily basis.

We started our company with a goal: to keep local control over the internet in our community, and continue operating as a local, independent ISP for many years.

Roof work

We love rural life, but we believe that bad internet should not be part of it. Conifer began when we were faced with a challenge: getting faster internet to our homes and neighbors. At the time, many of us were struggling to do work on a dial-up connection which wasn’t cutting it.

Our founders’ technical skills helped us realize that we could use microwave technology to reach this goal. They began by getting creative. For example, they strapped ladders to their cars and used parts from big cell phone companies with their own additions purchased from Radio Shack to build a network slowly. Now we use the best, most advanced technology. We have replaced our old equipment 6 times since it first came out.

We remain driven by the goal of a greater network and faster speeds. We are continual seekers because this pushes us to the limits of wireless technology. We are beta testers for various equipment manufacturers so that we may experiment with new methods to deliver internet access to all our community’s diverse pockets. We love living on the edge of technology and seeing what we can do with it.

For our health, happiness, and the potential the future holds, we are so very grateful.

Conifer Office

Above all this, we are grateful for our health. Covid has changed all our lives. We have lost friends to the pandemic, and we miss them dearly. The pandemic has changed how Conifer does business, and we have added new ways we work to keep everyone safe. We are all looking forward to re-open our offices for walk-in traffic so our phone staff can see customers’ faces again. We are grateful to be here still and seeing the light at the end of this tunnel. In a season of thanks, we know we are truly blessed, and we thank you.
