[9:21 PM] A short update this Sunday night (March 5th)
While our network is up, we are still down on multiple towers.
Our efforts to repair the lightning damage on Fowler Peak has allowed for a slow connection but the tower is not a full strength.
Our band-aid will allow for a slow speeds and emergency calls, but until we receive a critical part, it will not be fully restored.
That part is being overnighted to us and will be put in place as soon as it is received and safe to climb the tower.
The Starletta and Gopher Hill tower sites in Copperopolis are affected by this damage.
We are still struggling with keeping sites live with backup generators on Telegraph Hill (above Columbia), Cedar Ridge, and Big Hill Trailer Park, as well as towers in Greeley Hill and higher up Hwy 120.
We are using all of our hiking skills and snow traveling equipment, to keep these generators filled, as well as watching PG&E’s restoration messages carefully.
The weather is predicted to be mixture of snow and rain tomorrow, but we hope to make more strides to get everything fully restored.
We will keep working until everyone is back up.
Wishing you all a safe and warm night.
